“Landing”

One way that college students are taking action in the 21st century is by “landing”—learning about the land nearby, and how they might use it productively and sustainably. At St. Olaf, two alumni have invited students to experiment with the stewardship of nature on a 50-acre tract of land on the edge of Northfield. Students bring their heads and hands and hearts to this work, and they’re beginning to learn, as Wendell Berry suggests, what nature will permit in this place. To read more about it, click here.
